Method
- Empty the Talod Dal Vada Mix into a bowl and add water gradually as per instructions to form a thick batter.
- Add ginger, green chilli, garlic and coriander paste to the mixture and mix well to form a smooth batter.
- Let the batter rest for 10–12 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep pan. Drop portions of the batter into medium hot oil.
- Fry on medium flame until golden brown and cooked through from inside.
- Remove the dal vadas and drain on absorbent paper.
- To prepare the pita pocket, cut the ready-made pita bread into halves to form pockets.
- Spread hummus inside the pocket followed by garlic sauce.
- Add pickled vegetables.
- Place dal vada pieces inside along with lettuce leaves.
- Add a little more dal vada and close the pocket.
- Serve immediately.
